China's first man-made satellite, DFH-1, was launched on 24th April, 1970, which is a historic milestone for China space industry. In March 2016, the Chinese government designated 24 April as Space Day of China, to commemorate the foundation of China's space industry. It embodies the great importance that the Chinese government attaches to the development of space industry, and the principle of China's peaceful utilization of outer space. Space Day of China will become a major platform to popularize space science and technology, and an important window for the world to know China's space industry.

The China Space Conference (CSC) is an international, comprehensive and professional event. The CSC is jointly organized by Chinese Society of Astronautics and China Space Foundation. It is supported by China National Space Administration, China Association for Science and Technology, China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation Limited, China Satellite Network Group Co., Ltd, Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd., China Electronic Technology Group Corporation, International Astronautical Federation, International Institute of Space Law, and Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization.

Since 2018, the CSC has been held annually with great successes during the Space Day of China in the cities of Harbin, Changsha, Fuzhou, Nanjing, Haikou, and Hefei respectively. It aims to strengthen the academic exchanges, promote technological innovation and facilitate industrial development.

Through a diversity of events including academic forums, industrial dialogues, exhibitions, science education, roadshows, cultural interactions, the CSC showcases the global developments, offers the latest innovations, and releases the annual ten scientific and technical questions of major and global interest. It brings thousands of policy makers, agency officials, scientists, researchers, engineers, industry representatives, young professionals and students worldwide together to share experience and vision for sustainable space exploration.

The CSC is a platform for all countries around the world to cooperate to explore the universe better and make space technology benefit human society better.
